I have been wanting to do this shoot for months now, but with the Arkansas hectic weather and trying to juggle my plans with senior year, it seemed like everything kept getting in the way. So in between this time I did some digging through Goodwills searching for dresses and other pieces that would suit the 1950's pinup era, as well as some thrifting in search of some odd pieces to use for props. That part was fun and fairly easy, but actually finding a good time for the shoot was the struggle. I had tried to plan the shoot in January, which I should have known better, and it ended up snowing every time I set a date; at that point I just set the plans to the side until I knew the weather had made up it mind that it wanted to act right.
So spring starts rolling in and things are looking pretty good not to mention spring break is like right around the corner! Which means I'll have more shoot time, which means things are about to get real, which mean it's time for some Pinup madness! I still had all the items for the shoot stored up, so I went ahead and pulled out all my little vintage goodies and started making calls to my girls, the lovely babes who were the models, and we were finally able to find a day that worked for all of us, as well as my wonderful friend and talented makeup artist and two other creative friends who helped with hair as well as made sure things flowed during the shoot; I can't explain to you how amazing all these ones are, like I can go on all day, but I get back to how great they are later.
Now that we have a date everything is perfect now and there is no problems from there. Nahhh. Although I had most of everything in order I had no clue to where I should do this shoot. Okay so some months back I had made a visit to a absolutely stunning restaurant called South on Main in Little Rock to shoot for a band that was performing there, and I just fell in love; it had such a wonderful and classic vibe to it, PERFECT for what I had in mind for this shoot. I gave the owners a call up and they had absolutely no problem with us shooting there! Like I could not have asked for a better venue to shoot at than South on Main. Now everything is all lined up and ready to go. So here are a few behind the scenes photos of us getting the girls ready for the shoot. Thank you for sticking with me; I hope you enjoy.
